Wine decanter AYAM BLACK 1,7 l, RiedelCode: RD201602
Product detailed description
Riedel presents the Ayam decanter created especially for the 260th anniversary of Riedel Crystal. Maximilian J. himself. Riedel took on the design role in order to create an exceptional innovative shape. The designer was struck by the silhouette of the Ayam hen (a Cemanian hen originally from Indonesia), which he transformed into the purest lines. The anniversary occasion became a strong inspiration to create a new, modern and functionáal design, symbolically indicating the path the company wants to take in the years to come.
The two-chamber shape of the decanter speeds up the decanting of the wine as it rests in 2 chambers. When pouring, it is then aerated in the first chamber so that a quantity ideal for serving flows into the second chamber. The shape of the decanter was designed with a strong emphasis on balance. A convincing proof is the incredible suspension function. You can put the decanter on the table, but also hang it on the edge of the table, bar. Handling is comfortable and safe. The perfect design and perfect balance will appeal to all wine lovers.
Hand-made and hand-blown by master glassmakers at the Riedel glassworks in Tyrol. Available in clear or with white/black stripe.
Do not use Riedel decanter cleaner to clean this decanter, the beads could get stuck in the narrow part.
Christian Moueix's reflection essay on decantation:
"Personally, I prefer decanting for both young and more mature wines. In the case of mature wines, decanting is an expression of respect; in the case of young wines, it is an expression of trust. Decanting mature wines shortly before serving ensures that the colour and clarity are not impaired by sediments that have formed in the wine during storage. Decanting young wines a few hours before serving will give the wine the opportunity to develop its bouquet, to acquire a degree of maturity that it would otherwise only achieve with years of storage."
