The Maya series was created in 1962 and has been a certain "family silver" of Scandinavian design ever since. Cutlery is characterised by a handle that tapers forward in a triangular pattern. Spoons and teaspoons, including this particular dessert spoon, are characterized by an almost circular head. The spoon is made of high quality stainless steel.
The series has been awarded several prestigious design prizes, has been selected for the world's best design and has been exhibited in museums such as MoMA in New York and London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
