Before first use:

• Unpacking a new piece Le Creuset is always a small celebration - but first, don't forget to remove all labels and packaging. Then wash the dishes in warm water with mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and dry.
• The inner non-stick surface needs to be treated before the first cooking. Apply a thin layer of vegetable or corn oil with a paper towel, leave it on for a while, rinse with hot water and dry again.
• Do not oil the black outer side of the dishware - it is not treated.

When cooking:

• Always protect your hands with kitchen mitts when handling hot cookware.
• For mixing and serving, we recommend silicone utensils Le Creuset or tools made of wood or heat-resistant plastic. Metal utensils can be used, but always with sensitivity - don't scratch the surface with them or place them on the edge of the dish. Do not use electric or hand blenders, whisks or knives inside non-stick pans, as they may be damaged.
• Always cook on a hob that is the same size as the diameter of the bottom of the pot. This will cook food evenly and protect the handles and sides from overheating. With induction hobs, the correct hob size is particularly important - too small a surface area may not be recognised by the cookware at all.
• Best results are achieved at medium or lower temperatures, even when roasting or frying. Let the dishes warm up slowly and your food will be rewarded with perfect flavour. If you need to use a higher temperature for a short time, lower it again when the desired heat is reached.
• For cooking without fat, heat the cookware over medium heat for about two minutes, then add the ingredients. Never leave the cookware unattended or overheat it dry - this could damage the non-stick surface.
• Ingredients with a low flash point (such as some oils) can leave stains on the surface at high temperatures.
• Avoid using the "boost" function on an induction cooker - it is only designed to heat large quantities of water quickly.
• Never slide dishes across the glass of the hob - the base and the glass surface could be scratched. Always lift the dishes.
• In the oven, place dishes on a rack or baking sheet, never directly on the bottom - the heat will concentrate there and could cause damage.
• If you use the cookware under the grill, leave at least 5 cm of space between the top of the product and the heating element.

Cleaning and maintenance:

• Allow the dishes to cool for a few minutes before washing. Do not use cold water on a hot surface - a sudden change in temperature can damage the dishes.
• We recommend washing by hand in warm water with a little detergent. Although the dishwasher is not prohibited, hand washing will prolong the life of the non-stick surface. Don't use harsh cleaners, metal sponges or hard-bristled brushes - they could leave scratches.
• If you do choose a dishwasher, treat the inner surface with a thin layer of oil after each wash to retain its non-stick properties. Regular washing in the dishwasher can cause minor discolouration or loss of natural shine.
• When storing dishes, we recommend inserting suitable protection between the pieces to prevent damage to the surface, edges and rims.
