La Catedral – Spanish Rice and Pulses with Tradition
La Catedral brings rice and other ingredients to your kitchen, without which many classic Spanish recipes would not be complete. The core of the range is Valencia rice complemented by traditional Spanish pulses. No complex ingredients or passing trends – just a high-quality base for paella, salads, soups and hearty one-pot meals.
Valencia Rice Made for Paella
Bomba La Catedral rice is grown in the Albufera natural area near Sollana in Valencia, which has a long history of rice cultivation. It is protected by the D.O. Arroz de Valencia designation of origin, and thanks to its ability to absorb broth along with its aromas and flavours, it is ideal especially for preparing traditional Valencian paella.
Bomba, or Redondo?
La Catedral offers two types of Valencia rice – Bomba and Redondo. Bomba is one of the most prized varieties for preparing paella because it absorbs broth well during cooking while maintaining its structure. Redondo round-grain rice is another traditional choice for Spanish rice dishes. Whether you are preparing paella with seafood, meat or vegetables, high-quality rice is the foundation on which it is definitely not worth skimping.
La Catedral is Not Just About Rice
In the brand's range, you will also find Pedrosillano chickpeas and pardina lentils. Smaller Pedrosillano chickpeas retain their shape well after cooking and are suitable for salads, soups and stews. Pardina lentils come from the Castilla y León region, have a thin skin that remains intact during cooking, and a pleasantly creamy texture.
Simple Ingredients That Make Great Food
La Catedral relies on ingredients grown in traditional agricultural areas and on the experience of generations of local growers. It is the origin, the right variety and the properties of each ingredient that determine how the final dish will taste. And for recipes with just a few ingredients, their quality is twice as noticeable.
With La Catedral, you have the base for authentic Spanish paella and many other Mediterranean dishes in your pantry. Add quality olive oil, vegetables, spices and a few other favourite ingredients – and you can start cooking.
